NIS 2011/2012 - Do Full and Quick Scans use the cloud?

Hi there:

 

I'm curious as to whether Full and Quick Scans use the Cloud at all when they are being run

or are they just local signature packages resident on the HDD/SSD.

 

Conversely, do Insight and other "Cloud Based" Scans leave anything local on the HDD/SSD

or are they run entirely from the Cloud?
