After installing NIS 2011 my printer is showing "offline" from the laptop that uses the wireless router. The computers and printer are listed as "full trust", but I am still unable to print from the laptop. The HP diagnostic came back as the firewall was blocking the printer. Any ideas on how to correct this?
I presume the printer is a wired or wireless network printer. You should not need to set Trust level to full to get such a printer to work. However, as you have problems this is ok for the moment. When you examine the printer in the Network Security Map what is the connection status? Have you included or excluded the device from IPS scanning?
If you temporarily disable Smart Firewall in NIS for say 15 mins, does the printer then work?
