Machine: Dell Inspiron laptop E1505, WinXP, Video card - ATI Mobility Radeon X1300, is ~4 years old.
Norton: Auto Resume Delay=10 min, Auto Task Delay=20 min, Sonar Remove Risks Automatically =off
Two weeks ago I uninstalled a different security package, and installed NIS 2011. Immediately this problem started (it never happened before I installed NIS):
- Cold boot , login, screen resolution gets set to 1200x800 (which is what I want)
- Work for a while, then put computer in Standby mode
- Bring computer out of Standby, login, and screen starts at 1200x800 but after about 5 seconds the screen blacks out for a second and switches to 1024x768
When I go to Display Properties, there is no longer a choice of 1200x800, though the adapter still lists the Mobility Radeon 1300.
After rebooting the machine and logging in, the screen resolves back to the correct 1200x800.
This happens every time, and started immediately after I installed Norton. This is a deal breaker for me - everything on the screen is out of whack and stretched when it goes to 1024x768.
I've looked thru 50 pages of forum comments... nothin'... any suggestions? Thanks much.
