In attempting to upgrade to NIS 2011 today, a message indicated that it is incompatible with Webroot Spy Sweeper, and instructed me to uninstall Spy Sweeper. I am NOT running Spy Sweeper with virus protection - just the anti spyware portion. I don't see why these should be incompatible. Does anyone know if (a) these programs are truly incompatible, and (b) is there a workaround. Thanks much.

We only add the incompatibility message to products if we have tested and found compatibility issues with the products. Since you have seen this message, it means that there was a compatibility issue that we discovered and it is not recommended that you install both products.
Which version did the Norton 2011 team test: Spysweeper with Antivirus, or Spysweeper Basic? Thanks.

NIS 2011 and spyware sweeper both go after spyware so there could be a compatibility issue. The website for Spysweeper says it was made to go along with some antivirus programs. NIS 2011 is more than an antivirus program.

I'm not too sure, as its quite a large list of software that QA tests with. However, if this specific version is found and is detected by the installer, then it's incompatible. The software is able to distinguish between the different versions, and only blocks those that have known incompatibilities.
