I am currently getting the above mentioned error when I try to boot using my NIS CD.
The actual error is 
: "CDBOOT: Cannot boot from CD - Code:5"
NIS was obtained form a retail outlet so I have the original CD.
The install of NIS went ok (well I had a minor problem with the browser) it is the Recovery Environment I can not get into.
I also have Norton Ghost 14.5, that also has a CD for booting into the recovery environment and that works.
I do not know whether it is an intermittent problem but I have two drives on this machine that read CDs and it has not yet booted from either drive, whereas NG14.5 will boot from whichever drive I try. If the problem lies with the CD reader Drive then I have two that are faulty, but work with other CDs.
If the problem is a dodgy CD is it possible to make a second one?
( sorry if that question is already answered elsewhere, I have not found the answer yet).
Does anyone know does NG14.5 use similar code when booting from a CD, or is that totally irrelevant to my problem.
