Hi
I am using Norton Internet Security 2011 and have set its firewall behavior to be manual (Automatic Program Control = Off). I want the program to warn me when an application is trying to access the Internet.
It is warning me before an application tries to go out and access resources outside HOWEVER each and everytime it says that the 3rd party application is trying to hit my DNS address!!!. Instead of showing the remote IP address; DNS address on my computer is shown. That makes no sense.
Other firewalls do not act like this. What gives? Can it be adjusted to act like all the other firewalls and show me the remote IP address instead of my local DNS IP?
Please check the screen shot. 8.8.8.8 is my DNS entry on my local XP machine (XP SP3 32bit)
