NIS 2011: How do I know if the NIS I installed is 32 or 64 bit?

I just bought a copy of Norton Insternet security 2011 after uninstalling AVG.  So far it is working good.  I was just wondering if I installed a 32 bit or 64 bit version.  I am using Windows 7 Prof. 64 bit version.

Will it make a difference? Thanks for your comments... Congratulations to the Norton team for a good product

Hi jesslorenzo

There is no 64 bit version that exists at this moment, Norton works just the same on 32 bit or 64 bit.

Hello jesslorenzo

Welcome to the Norton Community Forum

I would just like to make sure that you used the control panel method of removing AVG and then used their removal tool to completely remove AVG before you installed NIS 2011. Thanks

Yikes! I didn’t. I just did now. Does that mean I have to re-install NIS 2011?

Hello jesslorenzo

We usually do recommend that you thoroughly remove the previous security program you had been using. Not doing so could have caused your NIS 2011 from installing properly or working properly.

To be on the safe side, I would recommend that you uninstall it using the control panel method and then installing NIS 2011 again. Please save your identity safe file if you have used that part of the program.

Please run live update until no more updates and then reboot.

Please come back and let us know how you made out. Thanks.

I’ve used the remover. All signs of the AVG are gone. I didn’t realize there are addins in outlook that had to be removed… Thanks for the advice. I’ve re-installed NIS 2011. It works fine now. I’m still learning it and it sure works well. No need to save the personal safe. I don’t use it. Thanks for the good product and support.

Hello jesslorenzo

I'm glad that you ran that uninstaller for AVG and got it all cleaned out and then reinstalled NIS 2011. If you do have any problems or need some more information about it, just open up a new thread since this one has been marked as solved previously. Thanks for coming back and giving us an update.
