NIS 2011 - Outlook Express - Anti-Spam button disappears

I'm running Windows XP Pro SP3 and Norton Internet Security 2011 with Outlook Express 6.

I've been using Norton products for years with outlook express, and have been using the Norton Anti-Spam button on the toolbar.  Recently, the button disappeared.  If I do the following it sometimes re-appears (temporarily):

Open Norton Internet Security

Select AntiSpam Client Integration Configuration

un-select Outlook Express.

re-boot

Open Norton Internet Security

Select AntiSpam Client Integration Configuration

Select Outlook Express.

SOMETIMES this will allow the button to reappear, but after a short time, it ceases to work correctly, and when you close and re-open Outlook Express the Anti-Spam button has disappeared.

The Norton AntiSpam Folder remains and it appears to be catching spam.  Unfortunately, I can't mark anything new as "spam".

Any ideas?

This must be an caused by Office during the disabling.

Try this:

1. Open Norton settings

2. Go to AntiSpam Settings -> Client Integration

3. Turn off Outlook's integration

4. Apply the changes

5. Open Outlook

6. Go to Add-on settings, and reenable the Norton plugin

7. Close Outlook

8. Enable client integration for Outlook in the Norton Settings

9. Apply changes

10. Open Outlook and check if the plugin loads

An alternate method can be:

1. Uninstall the Norton product

2. Reboot

3. Open Outlook, check the Add-ons

4. If Norton is listed there, delete the plugin

5. Close Outlook

6. Run the Norton Removal Tool, and reboot (repeat it 2-3 times)

7. Reinstall NIS2011

8. Run Live Update to get every update

9. Open Outlook and check the plugin

Let us know how it goes.

I'm using Outlook EXPRESS, not outlook.  There is no "add on settings".
