I have NIS 2012 on a Win XP SP3 and a Win7 computer. The activity map works fine on the XP and I thought it was working fine on the Win 7. However on the Win 7 it shows the usual twinkling lights for about four phases and then they switch off and the list of scrolling cities can't be activated. It's only the cities that don't activate - the list of threats will scroll along as usual. This may have been like this for a while because I usually move to "advanced" more or less immediately on opening and have not waited long enough to see what the activity map does.
I appreciate that the activity map is not considered very important and has been discarded for NIS 2013 but I prefer everything to be working if I have it installed. I therefore removed NIS 2012 with the NRT and reinstalled it. All was fine with the activity map to start with but I had to install several series of updates and restarts and it was after that that I discovered that the activity map had exactly the same fault as before. One of the updates seemed to have done it.
I am actually not now too bothered whether it works or not but I am curious and would be grateful if some kind person with NIS 2012 on Win 7 can let me know if they have the same glitch. As I mentioned there is no problem on XP. There have been several glitches in the past with the activity map which later updates usually resolve.
