NIS 2012 Crashes PC with USB 3.0 HDD

I upgraded from NIS 2011 to NIS 2012 on Sep 7.  Since the upgrade, my laptop has crashed twice, and hangs at the "Starting Windows" screen when it restarts.  It will only boot if I remove the USB 3.0 external hard disk drive before restarting.  After boot, I can reconnect the drive and Windows works fine until the next crash.  I have been using the USB 3.0 drive since last year, and have never had a problem until the NIS 2012 upgrade.  I am running Windows 7 Home Premium, SP1, 64-bit.

Thanks,

Jim
