NIS 2012 ID Safe login prompts

I have just upgraded from NIS 2011 to NIS 2012 on my Windows 64-bit computer running IE8.

Whilst I'm sure there are some improvements in NIS 2012, could I just mention what, to me, are a few "steps backwards" re Identity Safe:

1. I have configured NIS 2012 to prompt me when I'm not logged into ID Safe.  To me, a "prompt" is a window that pops up automatically to bring to your attention that you have to do something.  NIS 2012 just puts a narrow dark grey bar across the screen just below the list of tabs in the browser.  Unless you happen to notice it, you can very easily miss it altogether.  Why can't there be a proper pop-up window prompting the user to log in to ID Safe (or other options)?  Also, what's the point of the "Don't login" and "Never" buttons - if I don't (ever) want to login, then I just won't!

2. If I wanted to manually log in to ID Safe in NIS 2011, I could just click the ID Safe icon on the Norton toolbar in my browser and it would immediately show the ID Safe login window.  Now, with NIS 2012, clicking the ID Safe icon results in a drop-down list of just one item saying "Log in to Identity Safe", which I then have to click to open the login window (i.e. two clicks instead of one).

3. If I'm already logged into ID Safe, and I go to a website where I have previously set up and saved more than 1 login id (e.g. 3, say), once again the narrow dark grey bar appears with a "Fill Login (3)" button, which I have to click in order to see my 3 logins.  In NIS 2011, whenever I went to such a website, NIS would automatically present me with a drop-down list (in a reasonably-sized pop-up window) showing all my logins for that web page.

So... a suggestion to Symantec - please make your prompts more visible (and conventional) by using "in your face" pop-up windows instead of the subtle narrow dark grey bar across the screen.

Hi,

Those prompts are specific to that login prompt. If you do not want to exclude that site from EVER having an identity safe login then you click on 'don't login' and the prompt goes away for that time. If you click on the 'never' prompt you will ALWAYS have to enter your username and passowrd for that site.

The two click mode to access the actual box to log in has been mentioned to the staff with a very strong recommendation to go back to the single click. To date there has been no indication that the change will happen any time soon. BUT, it has not been stated that it will never happen.

The black bar was considred to be a polite way to get your attention. I'm guessing that your vote is that it is a bit too polite. With adequate encouragement the staff may elect to make a change that will fit between your 'in your face' and their current 'too polite' means of getting your attention.

One other thing you might consider. Go to the Product Suggestions Forum

http://community.norton.com/t5/Product-Suggestions/bd-p/Suggestions

And post your recommendations, one to a message, so that the staff can take them back to their development members and discuss making the changes suggested.

Hope this helps

--  This is already taken into consideration and fixed. When not logged into Identity safe, when you click on the icon it would directly prompt you to login window. This fix might come when the next major product update is released for NIS 2012, date's are not yet planned but i can assure that its considered.

-- Even this actually a design change introduced, should be under suggestions area.
