I ran IS 2012 from a purchased CD. It gave a message saying an older version was found and would be removed prior to installation. This began, then a message came up saying no cd in drive. In fact the drive is now completely inaccessible because of the attempted install. I tried to reinstall the cd/dvd driver following instructions, but this failed repeatedly. In addition, all my internet explorer icons are also now changed, and I can only connect to the internet if I run the iexplore application in Program Files. I can't even create shortcuts, or launch ie from the start menu. When I try, I keep getting 'File Download - Security Warning' messages asking if I want to save or run the application file: Internet Explorer.Ink which I don't want to do as far as I can make out!
Needless to say, everything was functioning perfectly prior to attempting to install NIS 2012. Norton virtual help is useless, as was a link to a microsoft fix suggested there. Tried to get phone support from Norton too, but it is not possible to get access to this.
Really frustrated with this after spending so much money on this Norton software. Can anyone else help fix my problem?
I would prefer now to get my laptop back to its original state and go get my money back on the Norton cd.
