NIS 2012: It's good to feel safe, but enough already!

So, this morning MSFT issued a new ActiveX control and installer for Windows Update.

For the first time, I am really hesitant about updating my systems (I do all updates manually to maintain control).  Only weeks ago, there were reports of Flame Malware and an MSFT scramble to update a certificate, since the vector of this latest state sponsored malware is Windows Update itself.

Well, I get the update on the first system.  There is a level of comfort as NIS 2012 reports that each file is deemed safe.  But after a while dismissing all these pop-ups becomes a nuissance.  I couldn't figure out a way to dismiss all.  So, I ended up rebooting (also needed to terminate CC Service Host on the reboot).

Does anyone have a better way to get NIS 2012 to chill?  Thanks.
