The Norton anti virus was about to expire on this laptop, so, on 3/16/2013 I used one of the three PC downloads from NIS 2012 as it had more time left. During the download and install, it removed the previos version. Everything seemed to be ok. I did the live update - was ok. However, I have been unable to do either a full or quick scan. The window opens, says "working" initalizing - then nothing more happens. I have used the NRnR to remove and reinstall - no change.
After trying to run a full scan, a window opens - "Symantic service framework has stopped working. - A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
Nothing happens. This was after the latest windows update was run on the 15th.
Ive done everything the norton help reccomends to no avail.
