Hi all,
At the moment i am using NIS 2012. I mainly use this PC for browsering - adult content, forums chat, gaming websites. Before i click on these websites i do take security precausions like using Norton safeweb to check if the website is safe or not.
1st question; should i get Norton 360 v6.0 or wait for v7.0? When is v7.0 releasing in AUSTRALIA?
2nd question; how do change the firewall settings to allow me the user control on what to allow and what to block?
At the moment the settings are set to default, and i don't know if i should block any of the programs that were already allowed by Norton.
Is there a guide to let me know which i should allow and which programs i should block.
What about all the .dll windows, do allow all of the windows registry?
3rd question; how do i setup my NIS 2012 to block bad website or potential bad website before the site loads anything?
Eg: If i go to a known bad website, i would like Norton to block it before the site loads.
autoexit173,
I can only tell you about your first question, from viewpoint of normal user. Your best bet to that question is stick with NIS 2012. Some of the fancy features in Norton 360 you might not care about - but those are your decisions to make. System optimization and BackUp are features outside of immediate virus & spyware & malware protection. This means to me, anyways, that NIS is for infection protection and information, so you pay for just that and not for the added features of system optimization and backup which are part of Norton 360. If you want those features included, then you can purchase N360, and for a higher price.
