Are you saying that if you get "Active" and click on Subscription Status it goes cjanes to dsiplay the number of days on the main GUI and stays displaying that as before?
Hi Hugh,
I'm sorry for the confusion. Let me clarify. For those of us who now have the Active status, where the number of days no longer displays, when you click Support / Subscription Status, you can check your number of days remaining like in this screen shot.
Unfortunately, the Active status remains on the user interface. Days remaining are still not displayed as they once were before my auto renewal
As asked above could you let us know what georgraphical area you are in in case there is any commonality ....
I have flagged this upstairs and I'll mention the possibility of a link to autorenewal.
Has Symantec answered this question yet? My Subscription Status still says Active and nothing else. No days remaining. No renew link. I'm located in the Eastern US.
Products that are subscribed to automatic renewal will show the subscription as active, as there is no hard expiration date.
Thank you Pieter for the confirmation on this. On the expiration date part of this. As in the past, with non-auto renewals, I have a new expiration date of August 30, 2013. My auto renewal went through August 15 last month.
Personal preference, I like auto renewal. I keep it enabled, but that's me. Is the reason you say 'there is no hard expiration date', because we have the option to cancel auto renewal within a 60 day period?
As per our confirmation emails, they state ... 'Please note, subscription renewals purchased through the Norton Automatic Renewal Service may be returned within 60 days of purchase'.
Just curious on this, plus want to be sure how to answer correctly when a new user comes in, wondering why now they have the Active status on their Norton product.
Thanks.
Although I do tend to go with Hugh on this one ... Is this logical.
For those who have already posted to this thread about having the Active status, and for anyone new ... this is the way I understand Pieter's last post.
If you wish to have the number of days remaining displayedon the user interface once again, you would need to login to your Norton Account and opt out of the Automatic Renewal Service. If doing so, make sure to save your changes there.
That is completely up to the user. I am thinking about it
You would once again be prompted by your Norton product prior to expiration time, that it's time to renew. A person should know their expiration date from their confirmation email(s), and logging into your Norton Account, where it's also displayed.
Many thanks to Pieter for making posts here, and Hugh, who I believe was somewhat instrumental on this issue.
It Works!! I am now back to looking at Subscription Status: xxx Days Remaining. Plus the Renew link. From Pieter's post, I followed the info and opted out of Auto Renewal after logging into Norton Account.
Something to keep in mind. For those who choose to do this, don't be alarmed if you still see the Active status on the GUI after opting out. Click Support > Subscription Status and let it sync with the servers. Afterwards you will see once again your days remaining and the renew link you once had.
Before and After. NIS 2012 around August 15 after auto renewal.
After opting out of auto renewal. Days Remaining have returned.
