NIS 2013 and IE with Nectar Toolbar

Happy New Year everyone!

 

I've been having problems with IE ever since I upgraded from NIS 2012 to 2013. Many times, when I close a tab or a window, I get a runtime error R6025 which tells me that iexplore.exe is the problem, followed by a Windows dialog telling me that IE has stopped working. Neither of these messages actually stops IE from working so the issue is more of an annoyance than anything else - but given the sheer number of times it happens every day, it is becoming very annoying!

 

I have disabled various add-ins and combinations of add-ins and have narrowed the problem down to being a clash with the Nectar search toolbar which I use. Therefore, if any techie person reads this, is it possible to investigate the toolbar that is downloadable at the other end of this link:

As I say, the problem has only happened since I upgraded to NIS 2013. NIS 2012 was fine, as was the trial McAfee that was supplied with my laptop. (I removed McAfee before installing NIS.) The problem started appearing as soon as I upgraded to NIS2013.

My laptop runs Windows 7 64-bit and the problem has occurred with both IE8 and 9.

I also upgraded the laptop to Windows 8 and the problem is also there with IE10. (I have since reinstalled Windows 7 - but that's another story - and am still getting the problem with W7 and IE9 straight away from this clean reinstall.)

All Windows patches and updates are in place.

I am running the current version (20.2.0.19) of NIS 2013.

 

Has anyone else had this problem?
