Hello to all
Can somebody please advise me as to what I can do - apart from delete Norton and remove it entirely from my PC.
I have been using Norton 360 on my W7 pc from the 1st release with no problems what so ever!! W7 Ultimate, 6GB Corsiar, WD1TB, ATI 5770 1GB.
Got prompted to update to the newest version of Norton - which was installed as Norton Internet Security V. 20.3.1.22
This is just completely disastrous!
PC is extremely slow. Browsing at times is just completely frozen as are many other tasks (going through folders, launching applications etc)
Before this update PC was super quick and super responsive - PERIOD
Ofcourse I ran a windows malicious removal just incase as well as a Norton check. These came up clean for both tools.
Then backup'd my system and wiped the hard drive clean. Re-installed Windows 7 with all updates 1st including lastest drivers for graphics card etc...
Then made a complete clean install of Norton Internet Security, hoping ofcourse this would solve all problems, but NO.
At this point I will add that before making a clean install of NIS PC was running perfectly fine and very responsive!!!
Again ever since NIS my browsing and everyday tasks seem to be a mission impossible at the best of times.
Browsing - 7/8 out of 10 times browsers (latest version of chrome & latest version IE) will completely freeze, then PC will behave erratically. Waiting for 2-3 miutes will solve the freezing. But who can do that every time I want to surf or check emails. It feels like i'm using the slowest internet connection in the world!
Tried adjusting NIS - settings for WEB without a positive result, may have ever so slightly made a difference with page loading speeds but has in no way solved the issues.
Everday tasks, opening and closing programs or sifting through certain files, photos etc - 7/8 out of 10 times computer will delay, freeze and behave erratically before the PC will respond.
Before 360, Nortons marriage with my PC was at the best of times terrible and troubling.
Ever since 360 and W7 - this was by far the perfect marriage - no problems what so ever! Probably the best experience I have ever had with a PC and Norton.
Now with this upgrade and clean d/load & install - COMPLETE DISASTER :((((((
How do I fix this problem?
Obviously others must be experiencing the same out there....
I have been using Norton for the last 10 yrs - what should I do?
My PC is useless in this state - my work takes forever to complete, so please help!!
A very unhappy and dissatisfied customer - this is not what i'm paying for why is this version so bad?
