NIS 2013 (Ver. 20.3.0.36) Not working

I have used NIS for some years, late 2012 I was offered a free upgrade by Symantec to NIS2013.  I unistalled NIS2012 using the Norton Removal Tool and installed NIS2013 but it kept disappearing from the system tray, sometimes within an hour, sometimes overnight.  I tried Live Chat and Norton Support tried the uninstall and re-install at least twice but it never worked.  Each time on Live Chat I was told that this was a known problem but it had been fixed.  I tried emailing the problem to Symantec but I've never had a reply.  So I went back to NIS2012 and everything has been fine.

 

My NIS2012 subscription runs out in 2 days, I've bought a (3-user) CD copy of NIS2013 and installed  NIS2013 (Ver. 20.3.0.36) on another PC last night.  This morning NIS has again gone from the System Tray.  I can still get to it from the Start menu but nothing happens when I select it.  I assume I will have to use the NRT to clean the PC.

 

I've seen similar posts on the Forum about this problem.  Does anyone know what might be causing  this problem and whether Norton have any plans to fix it?
