I have NIS 2014 running on Windows 8.1.
At the moment I do NOT want to upgrade NIS 2014 to NS 2015, mainly because of these three problems:
- long start up and shut down time;
- weird upgrade policy;
- concerns about the effectiveness of cloud protection in case you don't have a working internet connection.
So for the moment I will use NIS 2014 until my subscription runs out, and then I will see if I upgrade to NS 2015 or choose some another security solution. My key for NIS 2014 is valid many months into 2015.
My question now is:
Will I be able to use NIS 2014 when I upgrade to Windows 10 somewhere in the beginning of next year? In other words: will Norton update NIS 2014 so that people will be able use NIS 2014 in combination with Windows 10 or will they be forced to upgrade to NS 2015? If Norton does not update NIS 2014 how will that affect people that still have many keys or long subscriptions for NIS and want to upgrade their operation system?
I hope that also someone from Norton could answer these questions. It is because of this weird upgrade policy that people are driven to other security solutions...
Thank you.
