hello I updated my NIS 2013 to latest (2014)....I install it on 3 machines....However on this one (vista 64 bit, IE9, 4gb ram, PII 940 be cpu, 7870 radeon , corsair 750 tx psu)
it hangs quite often...It was hanging on quick-scan but doesn't so often...i tried a full scan ..it hangs..I try to run the checking tool to check for installation problems...it hangs or takes a long time.
I did try to uninstall and download a new copy from my account as per Symantec website instructions...however it after uninstalling using Norton removal tool , my account still shows i have 3 licences in use so it will not let me reinstall.
I have exported my identity safe in .dat and cvs to an external usb...though still took three tries as the process stopped responding.
NIS 2013 quick-scan shows no problems. ON DEMAND scans by Malwarebytes and SAS show no infections...
Norton online support kindly checked my instasllation and said it was ok...
and said he doubted that a reinstall would help...
Is this a common problem...that NIS hangs and has to be closed and restarted???
thanks for any advice...having said that quick scan has just stopped responding......Help please
