NIS 2014 Startup Manager: All processes active

Hello guys,

My NIS version is 21.1.0.18 and I found that startup manager feature is currently listing all my startup processes as active, even though most of them are not active at Windows 8.1 task manager/startup tab.

For instance, I explicitly disabled the BlueTooth tray at Windows 8.1 startup manager but Norton insists in showing it as active (on/off column is market)  as shown in picture 1.

I also found that Norton is currently list a total of 20 startup processes when I actually have 21. The one that is missing is "Send to One Note Tool" startup item that is listed by Windows 8.1 Startup Manager as shown in picture 2.

So, I was wondering about start using the delay start feature existing in the Norton's startup manager screen, but as it incorrectly lists all processes active, I also doubt the delay function may work as expected.

Are there any fixes for that ?

Best Regards.

Hi. In the meantime, while we wait for your screenshots to be approved, you could try using CCleaner and WinPatrol, as they both have Start Up Managers, and see if they show similar results to your Norton product. If so, that will help the forum to help you. :smileyhappy:

I can reproduce this with both Windows 8.0 and 8.1 + NIS 2014 (21.1.0.18).

I also reported this in beta testing: http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-360-Norton-Internet/Startup-manager-all-startup-items-on/td-p/1029501

Hi, I've been using CCleaner for very long time and it always shows all startup applications correctly. Norton is the only application that is showing the startup items incorrectly.

This issue has been reported, and this workaround was posted. It also applies to NIS. Hope it helps
