This applies to Windows 8 x64 Professional with dual SSD drives and no standard hard drives. When running a Full Scan with NIS 2014, the CPU utilization stays at 80-100% during the period that the scanner is scanning drives. This was reported during beta testing but was not corrected. NIS 2013 on the same systems did not exhibit this high CPU useage. With NIS 2014 scanning, there is a substantial degradation in system performance during the scan.
I am submitting a SymNRA file through tinyurl.com/nortonupload that includes a full scan showing this high CPU usage. The ZIP file is named Unknown95e2dfc1.zip. The tinyurl reference number is REF00180.
