NIS 21. Causes IE11 to Crash

Hi, Thank you for solving my last post in such a helpful way! I wanted to give out this information so to see why NIS 21. causes IE 11 to crash on each use and to help out if others are stuck with this problem. I use an HP pavilion g7 notebook 64 Bit with Windows 7. I use Google as my search engine Last update Tuesday IE11 was shown as an important update so I installed it. At this point I still had NIS 20. Three days later I renewed my subscription with Norton to NIS 21. I kept IE 11 for 2 days and this combination caused IE11 to crash each time. Seven times, to be exact. Decided to uninstall IE 11 and reinstall IE 9, which I used before… I have not had one problem with IE 9 crashing since. Was this the correct thing to do? I found info on this topic only with Windows 8.1 and solutions that were unclear to me. Off topic question : I noticed that when I type my posts, with spaces and paragraphs, .that when I hit the Post Button my posts always come out as one long paragraph, with all the info jammed up and hard to read. What am I doing wrong? I have checked Preview and it is the same. Thanking you in advance, atHome34

Hi F4E, Thank you for the info re IE11 and NIS 21. Just want to ask if this update, from IE9, is needed and important as the update said. I have hidden it in my updates. Please let me know what you recommend. I have read that IE 11 is still experimental??? Will it offer my PC more protection anyway even with EPM and Smart Filters unchecked? Thanks for helping out. AtHome34 I have been using my enter tab and it all shows up with the proper spacing. Once again it is all jammed up. May be my PC?

Hi, atHome34. I would recommend updating to IE 11, with the proviso that there have been one or two issues.

In the interim, you could go to the Microsoft site and download IE10 which has better protection, or stay with IE 9, untill Microsoft comes out with some *enhancements/improvements* for IE 11 !

Re your keyboard, it might be worthwhile updating the driver, and checking the settings. After each sentence in your reply, if you hit the Enter tab, it should drop down to the next line,

like this.

FWIW, I have IE 11 running and it's working fine.
