NIS 4 Mac Very Broken

I've been a NIS 4 Mac user for over 3 years.  No problems with NIS 4 Mac until the Mavericks version was released.  I have NIS 4 Mac on 2 Macs.  Both Mac-minis.  One  a 2009 and one a 2013 mini.  Both Macs have exactly the same problems.  There are 2 main problems.

1) NIS 4 Mac does not ignore Apple Signed Apps in Application Blocking if "Allow applications that are signed by Apple" option is checked

2) Spurious objects, i.e. mp3s, image, lproj files, etc, etc are highligted as trying to access the Internet, and are frequenetly blocked by NIS 4 Mac.

Examples of issue 1. are such as OSX Server has a DNS service, and it uses a Unix program called "named" to listen for DNS requests.  Even if I explicitly alow "named" in the Application Blocking GUI NIS 4 Mac still blocks this app.  It is part of the Server app that is Apple signed code.  I'd expect that Application Blocking should ignore this app, and other Apple apps like it.  I run OS X Server on both Macs and have the same problem on both Macs.  I have re-instaleld NIS 4 Mac on both Macs and the problem reoccurs.

Examples of issue 2 are already document on this Community Forum, and has been occuring since last year, so I am not reporting something that is new.  An example might be a Norton script, i.e. "/private/tmp/symtmp.jhdcvP/action.sh" or "/System/Library/PreferencePanes/DigiHubDiscs.prefPane/Contents/Resources/Spanish.lproj" or "/Applications/GarageBand.app/Contents/Frameworks/MADSP.framework/Versions/A/Resources/nl.lproj" or "/Applications/GarageBand.app/Contents/Resources/no.lproj/QuickHelpDefault.plist" or "/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Flash Player Install Manager/fpsaud" or "/Library/Dictionaries/New Oxford American Dictionary.dictionary/Contents/Images/pinafore, child's.png" or "/.fseventsd/0000000011425f3a".

I am sure many other NIS 4 Mac users are experieinceing these problems on OSX Mavericks.

So come on Symantec;  can you please fix NIS 4 Mac back to its former glory and bring it back up to the standards that your customers have come to expect from you?

Cheers,
