NIS 5 for Mac is constantly asking me to allow / deny LiveAgent (part of Microsoft Live Mesh) connections. The incoming connections are in the 30000 - 32000 port range (the ports seem to change all the time) and are reported as "unknown service (port 3xxxxx)". However, when I click the little arrow to show the application path it points to Applications/Windows Live Mesh.app/Contents/LiveAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/LiveAgent. I have tried creating manual rules for this binary but Norton Fireall still keeps asking.
Any ideas?
Hi bets2004,
I am sorry for that issue occurs,
It is because that the port number is dynamic in between the range 30000 to 32000, the Norton is keep on asking you to allow the connections. As you said that you added this Live Agent program, Did you try adding the application with port range values in the connection blocking for firewall settings. If not, please follow these steps:
--> When you go to the Connection blocking in the firewall settings --> By default it will show you Applications list. Choose the drop down list from the left top corner and select the option "Services/Ports" --> Add Service --> Select the service name from the drop down and click on Add. Now you can add the port range values and apply the settings
--> Also, To allow the program through the Application Blocking in the firewall settings - click on this link and follow the steps
Please let me know the results
