NIS 5 for Mac SymDaemon uses over 29GB of memory, 4.64GB real memory

I have recently purchased Norton Everywhere 360 and installed NIS 5 for Mac on my 10.7.4 system.  After a couple of days running SymDaemon reports using 4.64GB of real memory (16GB in the system).  Needless to say the system is coming to a crawl with Parallels running Windows 7.  Is there a solution to this issue?

BTW: I thought I'd post another observation before I got rid on NIS from my system:  the memory usage would go right up to the over 5GB even right after reboot; after turning off "Connection Blocking" it seemed to stabilize in the normal ~400MB range.  This may indicate that there is a link between the memory consumption and the other issue I have reported on this forum linked to Norton firwall not remembering the "allow" decision for Windows Live Mesh "LiveAgent" process.

Sorry for the problems.

First, can you try turning on Connection Blocking, but disable Windows Mesh, and restart your Mac, to see what the memory usage is like?

Second, can you please try running the "Gather Support Data" menu item in the Help menu of any Norton application, and send me the zip file that it generates? Contact me privately on the forums and I'll send you my email address.

If the issue is with Windows Live Mesh, we can see if there is a workaround available. Otherwise we'll investigate where the problem may lie.
