NIS Account problem

A friend who has a new Windows 8 computer with a pre-installed trial version of NIS was about to expire. They purchased a new product key, activated using new key. NIS prompted to create an account. Here is what happened.

 

They entered their email account incorrectly (typo error) but forgot what the error was (tried several variations of the email address without any success). Result is they can't login to the account. They tried creating a new account which worked except there are no product listed in the new account.

 

Is there any means of associating their NIS product key with the new account?
