I've had DSL since 1999 and am fairly familiar with using NIS throughout its various incarnations along with that Internet protocol. However, I'll be moving in October or November of this year and intend trying cable Internet service as never had an opportunity to do so in the past.
Are there certain things I need to be aware of when using NIS 2011 (or future releases) with cable as far as the optimum security set-up for everyday use goes? I make some minor tweaks in NIS due to personal preferences as I'm sure others here do as well, but I've heard more than enough horror stories regarding cable Internet security to make me want to ask for advice before actually running the service with my PC.
Anyone have suggestions to assist me or pitfalls to avoid regarding what I might expect upon changing from DSL to cable?
