Windows Vista Home Premium SP 2 32 bit
I download NIS and installed on the computer - this was a first time clean install, and while the installer reports starting up, all higher level network activitiy is blocked.
NIS Live Update, Activation, Browsers suddenly can't connect to anything. I can ping web addresses, so IP connectivity exists.
unistalling, reinstalling did nothing. Using the clean un installer and reinstalling did not chage this.
under settigs in the Norton Application, I turned off everything and still nothing.
An interesting but not relevant to this issue side note is that on one login, it also would cause the computer to freeze and I would have to cold boot to recover. It would do this before I could do anything with NIS, including running the uninstaller. The other Admin login did not have this. The freezing did not occur if booted into safemode with networking.
Open to ideas.
