In view of the increasing amount of malware around, it might be timely to remind people of the function of Boot Time Protection. At one time the default for this setting was Off. Now I believe Normal is the default setting. May I suggest it be set to Aggressive. This may increase boot time slightly, but ensures your computer is protected as soon as it is turned on.

 

Go to Settings/Real Time Protection, and change tab to Aggressive. It may save you one day, from a nasty infection.....:smileywink:

I just checked - OFF is still the Default setting for that option.

Hi yank, thanks for the heads up. I was referencing this exchange between elsewhere and Tim Lopez recently, and his suggestion may be taken on board in the future. Making Normal, the default :smileyhappy:
