My case is a complicated one.
I bought the 2012 NIS CD and instaledl it on my computer. At the end stage, it showed that my computer is protected and instructed me to explore the Norton....., I clicked on it and it stopped with no response. After restarting the computer, the IE cannot be launched. So I uninstalled the NIS, and the IE recovered. I chatteded with customer support, The adviser gave me a webpage to update the NIS. However, as I have uninstalled the NIS in order to chat online with him, there is no file on my computer to be unpdated. After uninstalling the NIS again, he gave me a webpage to download the NIS from it. Same thing happened - IE stopped working. It seems that there is a conflict between NIS and IE. How can I solve this problem?
