Recently NIS (17.8.0.5) has started using ~50 (i.e. one entire core) of my CPU for extended periods of time.
OS window 7, Core 2 6600, 3GB Ram
The piece consuming so much CPU is ccsvchst.exe.
As far as I can tell there is no scan in progress or no update occuring that might account for this activity.
Consuming this much cpu resources is untenable and will drive me to uninstall NIS and switch to another brand ofr AV if this situation cannot be resolved.
As an aside, the software should have options built in to limit resource use on a more granular level. I have the software set for idle time scans but would also prefer to limit that activity as well as liveupdate activity to certain nightime hours.
Please advise.
