NIS current version updated: phantom connection in system tray not detected/blocked by NIS (or N360)

phantom LAN connection (4.2mbps now, up from 1.0 mbps last week) in system tray next to my active lan connection when im online...

  1. cant disable or delete the phantom connection (says busy connecting or disconecting cant disable);
  2. when active, it shows up in my network connections folder under its own category (internet access) with no identity;
  3. when not connected, the phantom connection and its category are gone from my network connections folder;
  4. this connection disabled defender pro 15 in 1 paid subscription, and made it only have antivirus feature; all other features of the defender pro (firewall, pc tuneup, spam blocker, etc were just gone from the computer and program, not just disabled in the defender pro program, but actually gone)
  5. installed NIS current version and updated periodically thru day by manual live update...dont think NIS is updating automatically bc there are always updates manually and i update manually (2-3 times in a row after each update is completed) until i get a Not Required on the live update GUI;
  6. connection consistently uninstalls or deletes printer as though a printer was never installed;
  7. connection isnt active unless my LAN connection is active; i only have LAN, this is a desktop pc, no wireless here;
  8. 2 weeks ago i found the phantom was using a teredo tunnel; i deleted the teredo tunnel connection, and the phantom disappeared for a few days;
  9. i disabled ipv6, teredo tunnel, and disabled all network controllers (incl hidden ones) except the LAN connection i use;
  10. cant connect to internet unless i enable both my LAN connection AND network connection for packet scheduler (Intel Pro/100VE Network Connection - Packet Scheduler Miniport); when this second one is enabled, the phantom returns...
  11. i disabled all remote access to this computer as well as to all laptops running wireless
  12. cant fully use any home networking bc we cant afford to give hacker access to all computers...hes doing enough damage on the desktop with getting rid of our printer install and changing the security software...

NIS current version  & updated doesnt stop this phantom connection or block it from changing stuff on desktop...

desktop running windows xp sp3, LAN connection (100 mbps), the hard drive is brand new (1 week old) and i had to reformat it and reinstall everything 2 days ago bc when the hacker ruined the defender pro installation, the hard drive was running as slow as the old hard drive, which is why we got new drive...

these are all the network connections on the desktop and i disabled all: Direct Parallel, WAN miniport (IP, L2TP, PPPOE, & PPTP), and WAN Miniport (IP) - Packet Scheduler Miniport, Intel Pro/100VE Network Connection & Intel Pro/100VE Network Connection - Packet Scheduler Miniport

EANBLED my LAN: Intel PRO/100VE Network Connection to connect to internet

phantom appears to be using Intel PRO/100VE Network Connection - Packet Scheduler Miniport; when this one is disabled my LAN appears connected at 100mbps, but theres no IP info and cant open web pages; when this conection  is enabled, the phantom appears next to my active lan connection in system tray;

on old desktop hard drive, the phantom eventually hijacked my LAN connection so i couldnt disable my own LAN connection  (got pop up message: connection is busy connecting or disconnecting and cannot be disabled or deleted) and had to actually unplug from the modem to disconnect from net;

this phantom connection is only with comcast, but it seems that NIS and N360 arent able to stop him either...we have had 6+ ISPs over the years since 1995, not including dialup back in the day, and never had this phantom connection except with comcast...comcast sent me new gateway saturday (sep 29th 2012), i changed all network info, new network name, passwords, etc...today (oct 1), the phantom is back...

i have a 2 week old laptop, different maker than my last one, running win7 pro 64 bit; have disabled all remote access and teredo and all connections except the one wireless i use to connect to internet to keep this hacker outta my computer...the desktop hard drive is a little over a week old...and i have already reformatted it once and reinstalled windows bc of this hacker...

cant change ISPs bc of home owner assoc rules, so am stuck with comcast; i installed Norton 360, no help, turned to defender pro, hacker hacked it, now NIS isnt stopping this hacker either...pls advise...am tired of formatting hard drive and reinstalling printer every few days...cant figure out why he is deleting printer anyway, seems senseless unless whatever he really doin has that ripple effect on printer and deletes it...

btw...i did contact N360 when it was installed, they said it was a comcast problem...i contacted comcast, they say its a norton problem...but really, if security software cant keep this hacker out, i dont know what else to do...
