NIS delays scroll wheel in IE10

Hi A55A551N-11B3P

There are definitions and there are versions relating to the product.  Your definitions are up to date for the version you have if you would like to update your version you need to go to the update centre or login to your Norton account.

For future reference if you have a different issue to that on the thread header it is better to start a new thread as it will get more exposure.

There are additional links at the bottom of the above link with more info you may find useful.

Just curious how long the delay others are getting is?  I can typically scroll up and down for about 5 seconds when I switch to a page before the page responds - is that typical?  Obviously it doesn't sound much but when you are switching between pages often.....

Hello AdamPaterson and A55A551N-11B3P,

I'm Using a Microsoft Wireless Comfort Desktop 5000 series, both for my Windows 8 and Windows 7 machines, with IE10, and I have a delay that varies from 1 to 3 seconds, depending the web page that should be loaded.

First, you should take into consideration that IE10 has been designed and optimized for Windows 8, later, Microsoft has made available IE10 for Windows 7 and in this OS the browser is slightly less powerful than on Windows 8.

The proof of this, also lies in the fact that several users who had updated their browser to IE10 on Windows 7, they then did the downgrade to the previous version.

I personally continue to use IE10 also on my Windows 7 PC, whereas the decline in the performance I still acceptable. Of course, you may experience different results on other computers having different hardware and software configurations.

I agree with what intesec explained on the first page, message #2 of this topic.

Also, there are web pages that are very heavy, with so many and too many plug-ins such as Java, Flash Player, MS Silverlight, etc..) that have a relevant influence in the loading of these pages.

At the end, considering the complete package of protection that NIS provides for the web (in addition to the Norton Toolbar), which must scan the contents of a page before we get access to the same, the delay of a few seconds it seems to me more than acceptable, this also means that NIS is protecting you adequately.

Did you resolve this issue or are you just continuing to live with it?  I have found it seems to be specific to only one of my laptops (I have two HP laptops - sadly its the newer higher spec one that has the issue).

Well I feel that it has been resolved in the sense that I am pretty sure what's going on here. However, there has been a new twist in this story, but I am not sure if it really applies:

There are dozens of sites that I visit (such as LiveLeak.com, TheBlaze.com, etc.), where I will open the main page and then navigate to another page within the site. When finished reading the article or watching the video, I click on my mouse's button to take me to the previous page, but nothing happens, even after repeatedly clicking on it or the browser's back button.

Right-clicking on the browser's back button revels something interesting: dozens and dozens of links to ads! Now at the moment I cannot get this to do it again, but when it does, i will update this.

Here is what I am talking about:

http://ad.doubleclick.net/adi/N8667.842

That URL list listed several dozen times, though i can't get a true feed on it because it's not only not being listed in my History, but it's all the same URL.

There is something similar in my History: http://cm.g.doubleclick.net/push?client=ca-pub-5717092533913515 and http://cm.g.doubleclick.net/push?client=ca-pub-6275030221952515, but those are the only two entries.
