Very much an IT knowledge, so please be kind. I purchased NIS 2013 and installed it in Nov last year. It has worked fine until today. I first noticed it wasn’t working when I could not access the Internet through Chrome (Blocked Norton Firewall) or Internet explorer (diagnostics says that Norton product is not working properly). When I try to access Norton I get the message-
C:\Program files (x86)\Norton Internet Security\Engine64\20.2.1.22\uistub.exe Unspecified error.
It will not allow me to uninstall NIS, there is no response when I try to do this through the control panel.
The only thing that I can think may have changed would be that windows performed an automatic updated yesterday. I allowed it to run and didn’t turn the laptop off before it had finished.
As I say I’m a novice and at a bit of a loss. Any experts out there? I need to access the Internet as a matter of urgency.
What security software did you have on your computer before you installed NIS? How did you remove it?
See if you can do a full system scan in Safe Mode.

Norton Antivirus 2012. I removed it via add/remove programs.
Try restarting your computer again. With some updates it can take more than one restart to finish installing.
Were you able to run a scan in Safe Mode?
I am experiencing the same problem. Could not run the full scan in safe mode. Received the same error.
