NIS. Firefox, and Suspicious.Cloud.7.EP

Hi, I recently upgraded to NIS v 20.1.1.2. I immediately started getting messages that Auto Protect was processing threat

Suspicious.Cloud.7.EP. This happens quite often during any browsing session, and it is driving me insane. Is this really a false positive, and is there anything I can do to stop it?

I am using Firefox v 15.0.1 WinXP SP3

Thanks in advance

Welcome randy118

Try running a full system scan in Safe Mode. That way the scan can find malware that hides behind running Windows processes.

I would also suggest a second opinion scan using the FREE version of Malwarebytes, also in Safe Mode. You can find it here http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/

OK I tried your suggestions. NIS did not find anything. Malwarebytes did find some spyware (PUP.Spyware.MarketScore) and also some other threat in System Volume Information I think. Restart and same problem. Here is the details for Suspicious.Cloud.7.EP:

Seems to pop up on either Firefox or IE. Any other suggestions?

The File appears random by its name ( I think at this point)  chkekfax.dll

The threat name and the dll name are always the same. I really would like to resolve this issue.

It started right after I installed the lates version of NIS. If I cannot resolve it, is there at least a way

to stop seeing all the notifications. Can someone please help me?

Thanks

I am having the exact same problem.  Please let me know if you get this resolved.  I would llke to also resolve it.  Anyone out there that can help this would be awesome.
