Is there a way to add all domains to NIS email scanning whitelist? Perhaps a wildcard syntax?
NIS aggresively and incorrectly tags almost every subscribed to email (including Facebook notifications!) I receive with [Norton Antispam] even after this function is disabled in the settings (Internet Settings / Email Scan - off). The constant flickering of the Windows Taskbar as as it momentarily unhides itself every time the email scan tray icon appears is just a bonus.
My email client (Thunderbird) does not seem to have any way of interacting with NIS to build the whitelist and there is no way I’m going to type over 100 domain names into the configuration interface.

So, I can’t quite tell what you’re saying. Do you have NIS Antispam turned on or off?
> You may have to clear yout training in Tbird
I don’t receive any unsolicited emails so I don’t need to ‘train’ the spam filters.
I just want to know how to stop NIS polluting my email headers ( adding the [Norton Antispam] string)and scanning incoming emails (flickering of the Taskbar).
Hi Seanys,
It is NOT the Email Scanning which is tagging the emails as [Norton AntiSpam], it is the AntiSpam component of Norton program which does this. That is why disabling the email scanning is not working. You may have to configure the Norton AntiSpam by adding the Web address/Email address to the ALLOWED LIST, so that AntiSpam will tag the junk emails correctly. Refer to the instructions from this Symantec Support Article for configuring the Allowed list of AntiSpam in NIS 2009. If you want to completely stop the tagging of Norton AntiSpam, uncheck your email client from Client Integration under AntiSpam(Internet Settings). Let us know how it goes.
Currently NIS Spam Filter will work only with Outlook, Outlook Express and Windows Mail, but email scanning is supported on Thinderbird. Norton AntiSpam scans incoming email for spam with any other email client that utilizes the POP3/SMTP protocol for email. It does not integrate with these programs, and as such, will not be visible in any menus or toolbars within these programs. Thunderbird is much more advanced than Outlook/Outlook express and has it's on Spam Filtering as built-in. I think, that's the reason why there is no intergration for Norton AntiSpam.
"Thunderbird is not an officially supported email program for Norton AntiSpam. While it is supported at the protocol level, you won't be able to get any of the toolbars to integrate."-taken from a post by Tony_Weiss

Ohhh, it’s the Antispam! Thanks. I’ve turned it off now.
