Hi,
Does anyone else out there think Norton is scanning wayyy too much decreasing the lifespan of their hdd?
As soon as my pc is idle it starts scanning. Its starting to get annoying. I'm always running to my pc to take the screen saver off to see whats going on freaking out thinking someone is hacking my pc. But of course its just norton abusing my pc again instead.
I think norton should include an option to turn idle scans off, imo. I'd rather let the real time protection try to catch a bad file and maybe do a full system scan once a week when I have time. Especially for someone like me who uses his pc alot and never shuts it off I fell Norton is slowly killing it.
It sort of defeats the purpose as to why i switched to Norton in 2008 or 2009....after hating it for using too much resources all these years. I hope they aren't starting to go down that path again. While we are on the subject...the UI really hangs and sometimes crashes Norton on any machine and since about 2011. :)
Sincerely yours,
Rich AC
