NIS install problem with Product Key

Hello,

I am installing NIS 2011 on a new PC running Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit.  I'm having a weird issue entering the Product Key.  The entry screen will not accept certain characters such as "E" which is in the product key string several times.

I can even type the Product Key in notepad and try to copy/paste into the entry screen, and all of the E characters are removed (filtered out).

Keyboard is fine and I can type the whole string into Notepad or Word.  Any ideas?

Thanks,

Alan

Welcome to the Norton Community Forum

Please make sure you are trying to enter the correct key for your product. Please make sure it is not the netbook edition if you want the regular edition. Also please make sure that there isn't any other real time security program running now. If you continue to have a problem, I would recommend contacting customer support via the free chat program and explain to them your problem.

Please do come back and let us know how you made out. Thanks.

Flo usually says this ..... <g>

New PCs typically come with a free trial installation of some security product and if it's not Norton you need to uninstall it and in most cases run a special cleanup tool which we can point you to if you let us know what was preinstalled.

Even if it is a Norton product if it was not identically the same you need to remove it.

Please bear this in mind as something to deal with before installing NIS since you have installed it and can't activate it we can help you deal with that.
