I've written a web-page dissolving slideshow using javascript and jQuery. The slideshow runs fine on any computer that doesn't have NIS. But on a computer with NIS enabled, there's a glitch - at the end of the dissolve, the preceding image flashes very briefly on screen. As soon as NIS is disabled, the glitch disappears and the slideshow runs smoothly.
