I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium. I run NIS version 20.2.0.19 and use Identity Safe.
When I first started having the problem it seemed to be with just IDS. But now when I am just using NIS this happens. Sometimes I will receive the Error Symantec Services Framework has stopped working and it will reference CcSvcHst.exe version 12.2.0.8. At all times--with or without receiving above error-the tool bar icon for Setup vault will change to Exclamation poin and all options on toolbar will state System Restart Needed.
I am using the online Vault. I would be okay uninstalling and reinstalling NIS but I want to be sure that the info in the vault will still be accessible, as i dont seem to be able to stay functional in NIS long enought to do a backup!
I dont believe I had these problems till I updated to this version and began using the online vault.
Thanks for the response. Point of clarification-when you say "If you use Identity Safe, backup/export your data" what do you mean? My biggest challenge is that right after I login to Identity Safe I have this issue with needed the restart. My data was available when I logged in at www.identitysafe.norton.com earlier today but I'm trying to figure out if I reinstall NIS if it will just get the data from that site this go round? Does that make sense?

Thanks again.
Sorry to lead you astray.. I realised as I copied my instructions to the last post, that given your problems you would not be able to do that step of backing up Identity Safe.
As you have the online vault, it will survive a reinstall of your product.. You will just use the same Norton Account login and then the same password you used for the vault.
