Hi everybody,
I'm back as promised with regard to http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/NIS-Language/td-p/434538
Yesterday I renewed my NIS 2010 subscription using the English NIS 2011 key. Everything went smoothly. Next I ran LiveUpdate and Norton notified me that it could not be completed, suggesting a fix - download the most recent NIS version, i.e. NIS 2011. I tried to run LiveUpdate several times, but to no avail. So I followed the advice and NIS 2011 was successfully downloaded and installed. Then I ran LiveUpdate again. Bingo - new updates were downloaded and no more problems.
It is my understanding that the Norton Update Center, seeing my new NIS 2011 key, attempted to update my NIS 2010 with some NIS 2011 updates that were not compatible with the NIS 2010 version.
I am bringing this point up because if I had renewed my NIS subscription with the Polish key I would have kept getting an annoying warning that LiveUpdate could not be completed and I am afraid that if I’d followed Norton’s advice to upgrade to NIS 2011 I would have ended up with the Polish version of it.
Thanks again to everybody.
