NIS LiveUpdate will not Complete

I'm having trouble running LiveUpdate. It will not run automatically or manually. I will notice the red x on the NIS icon in the taskbar and I will try to run it manually. The LiveUpdate screen will pop up  and will so that it is checking for updates. Then it will show "Failed to complete". "Unable to connect to the Norton LiveUpdate server. Please check your internet connection". But I will be connected to the internet. I will then click on the "more info" button and it will open a page for One Click Support. There I will get a message that says "An error has occured with Norton Internet Security" Error: 8921 ,229. 

I have checked numerous times the date and time on the computer and it is correct. The only way it will run is to restart my computer and run it manually. The next day it will not run again.

 I'm using Windows XP SP3
