Good morning.
I recently installed NIS (version 20.3.0.36) on a machince running XP Pro (SP3) and am getting the "An Access Denied error was returned while attempting to change a service. You may need to log on using an Administrator account to make the specified changes." notice when MSCONFIG is run.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling NIS, but still get the error. If NIS remains uninstalled, the error does not appear.
I searched for threads regarding this error on this forum and on the Web in-general. The most relevant info was from a few years ago and indicated that this was a known issue (with NIS 2010) and that it was being addressed. Does this problem remain? Is there a fix I'm missing?
