So today there was a NIS patch apparently. On my Windows 7 computer I updated and patched with no problems. Then later I updated the Windows 8.1 Desktop computer and while it was patching and "closing applications", an error occured where it said my Norton product was turned off and I needed to restart the computer to apply the patch. I restarted, and Norton came up with the green checkmark. But then the Action Center said my network firewall and Norton were turned off (even though they were on). So I reenabled Norton firewall, and Action Center says Norton Firewall is On. So am I all set with that? Is my firewall up?
But now, in the performance tab of Norton, under CPU it's constantly showing NIS.exe running at 1% and you can see the little yellow running across the tracker. This wasn't like that before this happened, and it's not happening on my Windows 7 computer. Why is NIS keep showing up in the CPU performance tracker? It never does that even though it's running.
