Just want to run this by the Forum one more time. Are you *sure* NIS alone won't do the trick??
I run Win XP SP3 on my old, 2004 17" Toshiba laptop ("dual-core," 3.2 GHz). Been an amazing computer. Still going strong. (Well, the DVD writer has crapped-out. I'll just get a cheap, USB external drive.)
But...my question is this: I don't use any MS security features -- Firewall, Security Essentials, etc, etc. Only use NIS 2013 (and GHOST 15 as a back-up system). That seems to being doing quite well, lately.
So, if I'm not using MS security stuff anyway, why won't NIS continue to protect me, even when MS stops XP support? Am I being too naive?
Tks for the help.
