NIS reinstall after Windows reinstall

I'm going to do a clean re-install of Windows 7 SP1 from OEM disk which is 3 years old.   Then I will install my system's drivers.   I suspect it will then need a lot of Windows Updates to become current.    I have the NIS 21.2.0.38 install file.  Should I install NIS before doing the Windows Updates since I'll be going online?   Or will not having the last 3 years of Windows updates affect the installation/function of NIS?  Thanks for info.

Hello

I'm glad that the suggestion of using latestnis worked out for you. Please make sure you have run Live Update a few times and restart your computer a few times and try Live Update again. You have to end up with version 22.9.0.68. The latestnis doesn't start out with the newest version yet since it is being given out in a phased in manner still.

Thanks.

Using the computer I reloaded Windows on and wanted reinstall of NIS, I trashed the activation for the computer I was on, this immediately opened an available activation. I tried latestnis link instead of download as suggested. Downloaded fine to the same computer, reinstalled, live update a few times, no issues, thanks for all help

If you have a back-up of the original Install SW that could save Network Cost and time.

If you have a back-up of the product folder before the Windows un-install that saves getting all the old-old-...-...-old updates from 2011 or 2014 indicated in your attached PDF, then it only needs updates to that product folder's last update saving even more Network Cost and time. If the NAME of the machine was changed, delete the old one from your Norton account as above then add the new one and then use the back-ups vs all the re-downloading & updating.

Hello

You can use this link instead of the download button.

www.norton.com/latestnis

Thanks.

That is correct. Click on the trash can beside the computer you have reinstalled Windows. That will free up the activation. Then click on download and follow the directions to install on your computer. Be sure you run LiveUpdate manually a few times, restarting as necessary, until no updates are available.
