NIS Renewal

Hello,

I'm not sure where to post this so that Symantec representatives will see it; if it's inappropriate for this forum, I apologize.

I have been a Norton user for a long time (actually from back when Peter Norton was with the company). I Love the new products (I came back to Norton with NIS 2009); they are robust, light on resources and quick.

My only issue is with the cost of renewal. If I renew my subscription through NIS, it costs roughly $49. I think  you should offer an alternative. I just purchased a new version of NIS 2011 from Staples and with the rebate I get (from Symantec), it costs me $15.

Can't you offer a more reasonable renewal rate to your customers? I'd be happy to use the auto renewal option in the program if the rate were $15 to $20. But it makes no sense to do so when the renewal rate is much higher and I can get the software elsewhere for much less. I realize that many outlets use NIS a a "loss leader" to draw in customers, but a quick search of the Internet will show many places offering NIS for much less than the renewal rate. Are they all using NIS as a loss leader?

I'm not angry or upset; I'm just offering a suggestion to change the current system.
