I bought a new laptop and installed NIS and now i have a problem:
From time to time NIS runs double - like a have two antivirus on my laptop. When i restart my pc the problem is solved untill the next time it happens again :)
I'm providing a screen shots.
The other problem i have is with the toolbar for Chrome browser. I contacted a few times the support (with my old laptop), but the problem still resists. When i login and open vault there is a blue line upside the webpage which stays until i close the browser or the tab?

Regarding the two instances of Norton running in task manager check out yank’s post click here.
Other people are reporting more than one Norton icon in the task bar so far its topped out at three, and a report of double messages
You might like to try setting boot time protection to aggressive, then click apply, click ok, close all programmes and restart the computer.
What is the version number of the Norton product, you can find this by clicking the Norton icon, click support, hover over, about, on the window that opens, the second line down is the version number.
What trial security software came with the computer?
Maybe some one else has a comment on chrome and the vault with the blue line?
The version of Norton Internet Security is 21.1.0.18
The laptop has no trial security soft, I'm not dump :)
The laptop came to me without Windows installed, so everything installed on the pc is done by me
I'll try setting boot time protection to agressive, it's off by default now :)
About the post you gave me link to - this computer has only one user - mine, doesn't have Norton Management or Norton Zone installed. And i know that my computer is protected when I have 2,3,10 or 50 active processes of NIS.exe at one time, but it's annoying and i think it's not right to have several active icons of one program. I'm going to sleep in few minutes, because here is almost morning :D i'll reinstall NIS using the removal tool - will that help?
About the blue line I think that Chrome and NIS don't like eachother :D
I had the issue with the old laptop too, but only on Chrome (I use IE as well, had no problems there)
zynth, it is normal to have two instances of nis.exe showing in the Task manager. As to the issue of multiple tray icons, Symantec is aware of the problem, and is looking into it.
